MODCOM - Incentive Scheme for Commerce Modernization Projects

It seeks to promote the modernization and revitalization of commercial activity, especially in centers of commerce with a predominance of commerce regardless of proximity, in urban or rural areas. Actions are directed to commerce with non-repayable funds.

Recipients

• Micro and Small Commerce Companies inserted in CAE 45, 46 and 47 (Rev. 3 – 2007). Associative structures of the commerce sector, classified in CAE 91110 or the equivalent (Rev.2.1 – 2003);
• Associative structures inserted into CAE 94110 (Rev. 3 – 2007) or other equivalent associative structures, provided that the submitted application is directed to Micro and Small Commerce Companies inserted in CAE 45, 46 and 47 (Rev. 3 – 2007);
Regulatory Framework
• Decree Law No. 178/2004, of July 27, as amended by Decree-Law No. 143/2005, of August 26, creates the Fund for Modernization of Commerce.
• Ordinance No. 1297/2005, of 20 December, which approves the Regulations for the Management of the Fund for Modernization of Commerce.
• Order No. 26 689/2005 (2nd series), 27 December, from the Minister of Economy and Innovation, which creates MODCOM.
• Order of the Minister of Economy and Innovation, which determines the phases and their budget - defined by stage.
